Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

SublimeTask is an independent productivity project. This policy explains in plain language what information is used by the app, web app, and website. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to admin@sublimetask.com.

Information used by SublimeTask

To provide the service, SublimeTask uses your account details (such as your email address, account identifier, and name when supplied by your sign-in method) and the productivity content you choose to create, including tasks, notes, dates, projects, goals, checklists, preferences, and related data. Google and Apple handle their own sign-in credentials; SublimeTask never receives your Google or Apple password.

Basic technical and security information may also be processed to keep the service working, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and answer support messages. Subscription status and purchase information are used to enable paid features; Apple processes the payment itself.

Google Calendar data

Connecting Google Calendar is optional and separate from signing in to SublimeTask. With your consent, SublimeTask reads the connected Google Account identifier and email label and the identifiers, names, colours, and primary status of calendars to which you subscribe. This lets you choose which calendars to display.

For the external calendars you select, SublimeTask reads event identifiers, titles, start and end dates or times, all-day status, time zones, locations, and Google Calendar links for the date range you view. Those events are displayed read-only: SublimeTask does not modify or delete events in your other calendars. SublimeTask can also create and use one dedicated managed calendar, where it creates, updates, and deletes only events derived from your SublimeTask tasks. This may send task details such as title, notes, dates, and time zone to that managed calendar.

To maintain the connection and prevent duplicate events, SublimeTask stores the connected account identifier and label, managed and selected calendar identifiers, task-to-event mappings, and an OAuth refresh credential. The credential is stored only on the backend and encrypted at rest with Google Cloud KMS. Events from selected external calendars are fetched on demand and are not persistently copied into the SublimeTask task database.

Google Calendar data is used only to provide and secure these user-facing calendar features. It is not sold, used for advertising or credit decisions, transferred to data brokers, or used to train general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. People do not read this data except at your affirmative request for support or when necessary for security or legal compliance.

Disconnecting Google Calendar revokes the Google grant and removes the encrypted credential. The managed calendar and its events remain unless you separately confirm their deletion. Limited account and calendar identifiers and mappings may remain solely to reconnect safely and prevent duplicates. Deleting your SublimeTask account revokes Google access and deletes the integration credentials, mappings, calendar selections, and reconnection metadata. Selected device calendars are read-only and their selection is stored only on that device.

SublimeTask’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How information is used

Information is used only as reasonably needed to:

  • create and protect your account;
  • save, organise, and synchronise your content;
  • provide calendar and subscription features you choose to use;
  • send essential service messages and respond to support; and
  • maintain the security and reliability of SublimeTask.

SublimeTask does not sell personal data or use it for third-party behavioural advertising.

Services that help operate SublimeTask

SublimeTask relies on a small number of technical services: Firebase and Google Cloud for accounts and application data; Google Calendar when you connect it; Apple for sign-in, App Store distribution, payments, and subscriptions; RevenueCat for subscription status; and transactional email services for necessary messages. These providers may process information in other countries under their own security and privacy safeguards.

Your choices

You can edit your content, disconnect Google Calendar, change device permissions, manage an Apple subscription, or ask to access, correct, or delete information connected to your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.

The public website only saves your language preference. It does not currently use advertising cookies or marketing analytics.

Retention and account deletion

Information is kept only while it is needed to run and protect the service or meet a necessary legal or operational requirement. Limited backups, security records, support messages, or purchase records may remain for their normal lifecycle.

You can request account deletion in the app settings or by emailing us from the address linked to your account. This removes the main SublimeTask account data and authentication account and revokes the connected Google access. Deleting an account does not cancel an App Store subscription, and events already written to Google Calendar may need to be removed there separately.

Security and age

SublimeTask uses authenticated access, encrypted connections, provider access controls, and anti-abuse measures. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so use a strong password and protect your devices. SublimeTask is not intended for children who cannot legally consent to use an online service without permission from a parent or guardian.

Changes and contact

This policy may change when the service or the tools behind it change. The date above will be updated when that happens. For any privacy question or request, email admin@sublimetask.com.
